Camping and Aubrey’s surprising dinner order

First, Yakima for a church conference with the family. Fun! Showers, pool, beds, running water.

Then off to Cle Elem for family Camping.

Camping with babies is just what it sounds like. The most awesome and the most challenging family event, ever. 40 degrees at night and a tiny teething babe. One pee the bed incident, first time ever in history. Go figure. We bathe in a river. Aubrey swimming naked. Yes we are mountain folk’s.

Enjoyed 2 gorgeous hikes. This one is at Guitar rock..Totally surrounded by cliffs and amazing views. And definitely not kid friendly. Ha

Aubrey skinny dipping.

On this trip London started saying “all done”! She’s just so advanced. Ha Ha.

Then always there’s the welcome home laundry. Yes, 9 loads. WHY!!!

159 emails and…. No groceries in the house. We went to the garden and picked away. Dinner!!

Overall we had a good time.

So anyway, yesterday we had no food in the house and decided to go to our favorite little dive, Diego’s. SO GOOD! The salsa is the best EVER! You will taste the garlic endlessly.

Anyway, Jonathan put our order in and the waitress asked for his name. Aubrey thought Jonathan saying his name was ordering “Bagina”.. Aubrey’s name for, well, you know what!!!

So she gladly announced that she wanted a bagina also.

So, in the car on the way home I asked her if she got what she ordered and she said not a bagina, but I got bagina rice… Its yellow. LOL! Her sense of humor is so nutty and I love it.

My girls always make me laugh and Jonathan blush. My life is completed. Ha

My early cooking obsession

When did my cooking/ food obsession begin?
I can remember my Grandma Irene, who had an amazing gift for cooking and her love to feed people. I remember going to visit, (Next door)! And Grandma was so joyed just to fed us. Piled food on a beautiful dinner plate and making a cup of tea from an antique tea cup collection. She was lovely. My Mom's cooking I would describe as "Fresh, real food".. Oh my lord. I cannot stop eating whatever she makes. Her homemade bread.... OUT OF THIS WORLD. Aunt Beverly can make the most elaborate and amazing cakes that ACTUALLY taste as good as the look! I was raised with cooks who never measured, Just compiled ingredients and VIOLA`! My Mom allowed us to make/ bake whatever we wanted. When I was about 8 years old, Fat -free cooking was all the rage, remember? :D I decided to make a fat-free chocolate cake, sounds OK? WRONG!!!!!!!!! This cake was 5 layers that tasted like SCHMUCK! I eventually threw it out for the chickens to eat, and even they would not touch it. THAT BAD. Oh and the rain would not even melt it away. Thanks Mom for letting me try:D Since them. my cooking skills have improved. I love cooking. I obsess over recipes at night in bed. I know. Weird. Think about new creations and combination's never thought of..I'm obsessed.
I want more than anything to teach my girls to not be scared to try and mess up. To waste ingredients trying something new. I love it.

Yesterday, us gals made rhubarb-strawberry jam. Love my girls so much. I am honored to be there Mom and let them make as many cooking mistakes as they want.

I am super close to my siblings, who all live in B, ham. So,We have a roommate Nate who is also considered one of our kids. Life's great! So anyway, made a giant feast of a meal tonight for dinner, Paprika, lemon grilled chicken, roasted yams, Parmesan salad, fruit,.... and none of my family was here.
Aubrey spending the night at grandparents, Jon stuck in a meeting... So I have a mini dinner date with my micro diner, London. Shes the best, she is always around whenever there's food involved and because she can't go anywhere without me yet:D HA.Align Center
